The Hellenic Restaurant is perfect for any special occasion from seminars, weddings, birthdays and receptions. We had a window seat overlooking Hyde Park. I remember saying to Matt, this must be what it feels like in Central Park (not that we've been yet) but wow, it was so peaceful. Not to mention that the atmosphere, along with the gentle Greek music really put you in a great mood!

Below are a couple of snapshots of the interior within the Hellenic Restaurant. The fireplace really makes you feel welcomed!

Starters
Complimentary bread, olives, olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Kalmata olives and olive oil.. basically every Greek's staple food. Therefore you couldn't expect anything less from a fine Greek restaurant. The only downside was that the olives had not been "pitted" so it became messy real quick.

Zucchini flowers
Stuffed with aromatic feta cheese served on rocket with lime dressing
This was the highlight of the evening! There was only a very light batter which didn't affect the texture of the flower itself, so the stalk still had a crunch to it. It was PERFECT! We are still drooling over that feta cheese filling, which introduced a whole new flavour which contrasted quite well with the zucchini flower. YUM!

Mains
Eye fillet served with aromatic mashed potatoes and black truffle creamy sauce
That black truffle creamy sauce was to die for... when served on top of that creamy mash potato it was really enjoyable. Unfortunately that's where the compliments stop. When ordering I asked for my eye fillet to be cooked medium-rare however it came out well done (is there anything further than well done?). Needless to say, I had two bites and couldn't enjoy the rest of what seemed to be a great piece of meat.

Traditional Greek Moussaka
Beef and pork mince, potatoes, eggplant, creamy sauce and kefalograviera cheese
The waitress recommended the oven baked moussaka, which was the most popular dish on the menu. When they say quality and quantity I normally think like the old el' paso girl and say "why not have both?". That is exactly what this dish did, while it looked like a lasagna, it tasted more like a dry shepherds pie and while it was enjoyable, it also felt like it had been re-heated rather than baked fresh. So long as the dish ticked all the boxes for us, we don't mind how it is cooked!

The Hellenic Restaurant is overall a quite enjoyable place to dine. It is unfortunate that we received a badly cooked steak, otherwise we would have given this restaurant a solid 8/10!
Perhaps we might need to re-visit it again for round 2.
